Twiga Foods Selects Jumia Kenya CEO Charles Ballard As Successor To Peter Njonjo

Twiga Foods has announced the appointment of Charles Ballard as its new Chief Executive Officer following an extensive global search process.

With a career spanning over 15 years, including 9 years in the Kenyan market, Ballard brings a wealth of experience in e-commerce, retail, and financial services to his new role.

Previously serving as CEO of Jumia Kenya, a prominent e-commerce company, Ballard led the organization through a transformative phase towards profitability.

Hein Pretorius, Chairman of Twiga’s board of directors, expressed enthusiasm for Ballard’s appointment, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Charles as our new Chief Executive. As CEO, Ballard will oversee all aspects of Twiga’s business, supported by a team of senior leaders including Chief Operating Officer Anjan Dasgupta, Chief Technology Officer Paul Bombo, Chief People Officer Susan Kiama, and Chief Financial Officer Zuber Momoniat.
